Types of oligopod larva are:

3. Polypod Larva (Eruciform)

These larvae have three pairs of thoracic legs and 2–5 pairs of abdominal legs. They are phytophagous and destructive.

Types:

– Sphingid caterpillar: Acherontia styx

– Looper: Thalassodes quadraria

– Semilooper: Achoea janata

4. Apodous Larva

These larvae lack legs and have sensory papillae instead.

The pupa is a resting stage of holometabolous insects.

II. Based on appendages:

1. Exarate pupa: Coleoptera

2. Obtect pupa: Lepidoptera

3. Coarctate pupa: Housefly
